After a long hiatus, Silver Atlas is finally back in the studio writing and recording new music. And I couldn't be happier. This time around, we'll be posting the songs as they wind their way through the creative process, which should be fun, I think, and it means that people won't have to wait such a long time to actually get a taste of the new stuff. Here's what's up right now ... Song 1 - Working title of "Abdul" This song began as a couple of beats and chords that I threw together just a few weeks ago. Alan heard it and immediately came up with a couple of different guitar parts and the song started flowing from there. This is very typical of how many of our songs come together. Alan or myself has a riff that we fancy and next thing you know Alan is in front of a microphone working out a melody with stream of consciousness lyrics. Song 2 - Working title of "Wonder" This one began its life with me doodling at the piano, trying to channel Stevie Wonder. At this point, the song is still all me ... and it is somewhat desparate for Alan to contribute. I also have high hopes for what Johnny might bring to the party.
